Say Yes

I feel like we all have that thing we love that gets pushed to the back burner time and time again because “I don’t have time”, or “I’m not sure if I can do this”. I have a few in mind that I can think of already. Now that I’m entering another new decade of my life, I’m starting to wonder, ‘what if I say yes?’. YES to this new business, YES to moving on to the next chapter of my career and my life no matter how afraid I am of the change, and YES to seeking and manifesting my dream career by putting myself out there. I know what you’re thinking, easier said than done…trust me I KNOW. That’s why I have created The HR Friends Network, so that we can do it together.

I like to think I grew up in the ‘rise’ of the social media era. Myspace and BlackPlanet were the thing until Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram entered the chat when I was coming out of High School. I typically gravitated toward Twitter since all you needed were words. This was great for me because although on the surface I am socially friendly and bubbly, internally I’m experiencing social anxiety majority of the time. It’s always been difficult for me and because of that, I tend to shy away from a lot of social media posting and engagement other than on an occasion. But, how can I have this social anxiety and want to create and lead a social networking platform???….I’m glad you asked.

Once I saw The HR Friends Network is something I wanted to do, I started researching other similar websites and reaching out to other HR professionals in and around my social networks to see what interests them. I was amazed at the positive feedback that I received in the process. Before I knew it, I was setting up meetings with other HR professionals nationwide to discuss possible partnerships and networking opportunities. I can say that I’ve even gained a couple of #HRFriends. It happened so fast and bonds formed so organically, that it gave me just the confidence boost that I needed in order to confirm that I have made the right decision.

So, I’m saying yes to bringing my dreams and my passions to life in this platform and hope to inspire others wanting to join our community to say yes to your dreams too!
